Private Client Legal Administrator

About the role

You will be working as part of our Private Client team and will be carrying out various tasks, such as:

  • Assisting with opening and closing files, including carrying out AML checks and confirming clients’ identities
  • Helping to prepare Wills, LPAs and other Private Client and Estate related documents including attendance notes and minutes of meetings
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors and third parties by telephone, email and preparing letters
  • Managing files to ensure they are kept up to date
  • Answering the phone, greeting clients and coordinating and scheduling calendars and meetings

About you

  • Educated to A Level (or equivalent)
  • Previous legal experience preferred (but not essential for the right candidate)
  • Experience with Case Management systems (preferred but not essential)
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Numerate and IT literate (proficiency in Word and Excel)
  • Friendly and works well within a team

Private Client Solicitor

About the role

The role will be focused on our Private Client offering to a wide range of clients including High Net Worth individuals, entrepreneurs and families. The tasks you will be carrying out include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Take Private Client instructions and advise on the most appropriate course of action to meet client’s needs; taking appropriate action in executing clients’ instructions in a timely manner
  • Deal with matters appropriately, including communication with clients over the telephone, by email and in face-to-face meetings, and with other solicitors and professional organisations over the telephone, by email and correspondence
  • Prioritising your workload, maintaining accurate records of time spent on all activities, ensuring that bills are presented on time and that the agreed procedures within the Company relating to case management and file control are adhered to
  • You will help to improve the department with regular reviews of the systems, controls and processes to determine whether they are fit for purpose as the environment and service delivery requirements change
  • To achieve personal and team targets, audit and quality requirements, service level agreements (SLA), and key performance indicators (KPI)
  • Maintaining professional competence through continuous professional development, and maintaining relevant training records which satisfy the current regulations and requirements as specified by The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
  • Carry out business development activities acting as an ambassador for the firm, taking a proactive approach to building professional relationships with clients and other contacts
  • Assisting in the supervision of junior solicitors, trainee solicitors, paralegals and supporting staff as required in accordance with your experience

About you

  • PQE – 2+ years
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
  • Good “hands-on” private client experience in Wills, Trusts, Lasting Power of Attorney and Trust and Estate Administration, with an ambition to develop your skills and qualifications in the areas of tax and STEP Excellent client-facing skills and the ability to nurture existing clients and third-party relationships as well as the ability to help develop new business and assist in networking events

About the role

The role will be focused assisting our busy residential property team. The tasks you will be carrying out include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Assisting with the opening of files for purchase and lease of land or property
  • Carrying out AML and preparing the file for the solicitor dealing
  • Dealing with client queries and managing expectations
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors and third parties by telephone, email and preparing letters

  • Managing the team diaries in relation to important dates

About you

  • You should have previous experience of working within a residential property team
