Position Overview

The Marketing and Business Development Manager is responsible for generating long-term sustainable profitability for the business, driving the company’s growth through strategic marketing initiatives, client acquisition, and partnership development. This role combines creative marketing leadership with analytical business acumen to expand market presence, strengthen brand awareness, and achieve revenue targets.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Marketing Strategy & Execution

 

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies to promote the firm’s products and services.
  • Working with external agencies, oversee digital marketing, social media, SEO, PPC, email campaigns, and content creation.
  • Manage brand positioning and ensure consistency across all marketing channels and materials.

 

Business Development & Growth

 

  • Design and implement the firm’s approach to business development, working with the Heads of Practice to support and bring this to life.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Support fee earners to develop and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.

 

Data & Performance Management

 

  • Set KPIs and measure performance across marketing and business development activities.
  • Manage and action operational lead generation opportunities in real time, working with outsourced call handling and internal triage team.
  • Analyse campaign results and market data to optimize strategies and budgets.
  • Report regularly on progress, ROI, and key insights to senior management.

 

Team Leadership

 

  • Foster collaboration across departments to align marketing and the firm’s goals.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Practice to develop business development ideas and skills

 

Experience:

 

  • 7-10+ years of experience in marketing and business development ideally within a legal or regulated environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving growth targets and developing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Experience managing budgets and cross-functional teams.

 

Skills:

 

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The key duties in summary to:

  • Prepare compliance for Solicitors or Legal Executives to review and approve.
  • Complete legal tasks to progress client matters, e.g. drafting letters and statements for Solicitor approval.
  • Communicate with clients and third parties via email, phone calls and meetings.
  • Assist with the management of matter finances, such as drafting invoices.

 

We are looking for candidates with a can-do attitude and positive approach to join a well-established and highly regarded office.  If you are willing to work hard, be part of the team we would be interested to hear from you.

We will only consider applicants with a minimum of  12 months previous experience.

This is a great opportunity for an organised, methodical and details orientated candidate to develop their career amongst a team of specialists.
