Divorce – Reduced Fee Initial Consultation

An important meeting

At Wellers we offer all our family law clients, thinking of divorce or separation, a Reduced Fee Initial Consultation of up to an hour, for just £100 plus VAT at a third of the cost of a solicitor’s usual hourly rate and offers excellent value for money. Your consultation will be with a qualified family lawyer and we can carry out the meeting in person, by phone or by video conferencing, the choice is yours.

What will you get out of the consultation?

There are many reasons why you will want to book a meeting. You may wish to instigate divorce proceedings or may have already been served with papers by your partner. You could be concerned your partner is hiding assets or worried about having access to children. Even if you are not yet ready to take the next steps, the consultation will help you know what to do to protect your position and future interests.

The consultation is completely confidential and gives you a chance to brief us about your situation and set out your objectives, particularly when it comes to arrangements for children and finances.

We will identify the key issues you will need to address in order to achieve those objectives. Giving you:

• Important aspects of law and procedure that you will need to adhere to
• Information on the new no fault divorce rules
• Any requirement for mediation
• What your rights are under the law
• The options you have available to you
• What your next steps could be
• The cost of proceeding

Please note that you are under no obligation to proceed with Wellers beyond the consultation. Armed with an estimate of our likely costs and a good understanding of the law as it affects you, you can decide to progress with one of our team or go elsewhere. However, we will deduct the cost of the consultation from future fees if you decide to instruct us to represent you.
