Richard leads our Wellers Hedleys team across our three Surrey offices. He has over ten years’ experience specialising in all aspects of property law including:

Richard has acted for private individuals (both domestic and foreign-based), high profile sport and entertainment professionals and property developers as well as managing the property portfolios of a number of his commercial clients.
Prior to joining Wellers, Richard headed up two award-winning legal teams and has been instrumental in their ongoing growth and continuing success.
Having qualified in London, Richard is based in Surrey and has a detailed knowledge of the local area which adds useful context to his advice. He is known for his personable and pragmatic approach to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients quickly and efficiently.
Parmjit qualified as a solicitor in 2003 after completing his studies at University College, London and Queen Mary College, London. He joined Wellers Law Group in 2015.
Parmjit has wide ranging experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer especially in the technology and healthcare fields. He regularly advises on mergers and acquisitions transactions, management buy-outs, venture capital/private equity transactions, joint ventures and collaboration agreements.
He is also widely experienced in dealing with day to day commercial issues faced by companies, such as trade mark and brand protection, advising on terms of business and Companies Act compliance matters. He acts for a range of business clients including individuals, partnerships, start ups and SMEs that operate in a number of business sectors.
Peter is an experienced Charity Solicitor working alongside the Head of Department Paul Martin at our London office.
Peter advises charities on a wide range of legal matters including the establishment of and incorporation of charities, constitutional amendments, mergers, charity governance and powers contained in the Charities Acts. Peter has previously advised on academy conversions, complex first registrations of charity land, permanent endowment issues and most recently the takeover of a School.
Peter is a Trustee of four grant making charities and a member of the Charity Law Association.
In his spare time he enjoys cooking, running and watching Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Kerry is a keen Arsenal FC supporter visits the Emirates Stadium whenever the opportunity arises. Kerry’s other interests include fitness and she has climbed the O2!
Deena is a senior solicitor in our Private Client department. She studied French at University College London and then undertook her legal training at The College of Law. She qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and since then has specialised in private client work including administration of estates, particularly high value estates with foreign elements. Deena also advises on Wills, and inheritance tax planning for individuals and business owners. She also deals with the creation and general administration of trusts, and Court of Protection Work including Lasting Powers of Attorney and advice to attorneys.
Deena speaks fluent French and is an affiliate member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners. She is a keen artist in her spare time.
Consultant - Commercial & Residential Property
Susan has over 40 years experience working in the legal profession, working initially for a large firm of Solicitors in Fleet Street, studying in her spare time to qualify as a Legal Executive. She qualified as a solicitor in 1991, and ran her own practice for 20 years before merging with Wellers in 2016. She has wide experience in all aspects of residential property law, and general commercial contract and property disputes, she strives to provide a personal service, and to build relationships with clients, a lot of whom she has worked with for many years. Susan is our Client Care Manager, and oversees the firm’s Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme, accreditation. Susan is experienced working with deaf people, and can communicate in British Sign Language.
In her spare time, Susan enjoys cycling, walking and bell ringing, and is a Church of England Licenced Lay Minister.
Leon advises clients on a wide range of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, often in the context of dispute resolution. He has over 20 years’ experience in England and Wales as well as other jurisdictions. In that time, he has acted in matters at the highest level concerning the following areas of law: contracts, company law/shareholders’ rights and obligations, partnerships, professional negligence, banking, defamation/reputation management, product liability and construction.
In addition to his competence across a wide range of practice areas, Leon is an expert in Sale of Goods Law (relating to both business to business transactions, and business to consumer transactions) with more than 15 years’ experience in advising corporations in this area of the law; and he is a specialist in the duties of trustees-in-bankruptcy. He acted for the claimants in Oraki & Oraki v Bramston and Defty  EWHC 2982 before Nicholas Strauss QC and Oraki & Oraki v Bramston and Defty  EWCA Civ 403 before the Court of Appeal, which established for the first time that a bankrupt may have a personal cause of action against a trustee-in-bankruptcy in common law (e.g. in negligence, based on personal loss), and thus such a claim may be brought outside the scope (and limitations) of the Insolvency Act 1986.
Notable matters also include Seaga v Harper (No 2)  UKPC 26 in which Leon successfully appeared before the Privy Council for a former Prime Minister of Jamaica.
Leon acts for a wide variety of clients, ranging of from listed companies and very high net worth individuals to modest owner managed SMEs. He is also equally comfortable acting for either insolvency practitioners, creditors, debtors or bankrupts in personal insolvency matters.
Leon also has a strong sense of social responsibility and has been involved in a number of worthwhile efforts such as persuading the relevant authorities to reduce Air Passenger Duty to the Caribbean so that it matched, rather than exceeded, other similarly distant destinations; and advocating for the increase in the bankruptcy threshold from £750 to £5,000 in 2015 in order to prevent vulnerable persons being made bankrupt for relatively small liabilities, such as Council Tax.
Philip qualified in 1988 and was a partner with the Reece-Jones Partnership prior to that practice joining the Wellers Law Group in 2014.
Philip covers most areas of dispute litigation, excluding personal injury, and in particular consumer law, contractual and commercial disputes, property litigation, employment, contentious probate and regularly acts on debt recovery.
He recognises the importance of mediation in all litigation disputes and seeking resolution at an early stage. He has successfully concluded high value claims through mediation both personally and with the assistance of Councel.

Ingrid is Head of Private Client services at Wellers, bringing with her extensive experience and knowledge of taxation and trust law.
After completing her LLB (Hons) in Business Law at Guildhall University where she studied company law, taxation and related subjects, Ingrid studied at the Inns of Court School of Law and was called to the Bar in 1995, specialising in European Competition Law and International Trade.
Ingrid’s first position was at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Edinburgh where she worked as a corporate tax senior in the Corporate Tax and Life Insurance Tax Department of the Financial Services Division as a tax advisor for large banks and insurance companies. This involved working as part of a team of three looking at tax planning strategies for multi-national insurance companies, leading often to international corporate restructuring for tax purposes. Ingrid was initially recruited to prepare a report to be disclosed during a tax investigation by the Revenue involving the tax treatment under the pre anti avoidance legislation of a box option, which was the underlying investment for the insurance companies guaranteed income bond.
Ingrid was then asked to join Arthur Andersen (the 4th largest accountancy firm worldwide at the time) where she managed the tax compliance for a portfolio of clients which included a number of investment companies and a Japanese bank with branches in England.
During her period at Arthur Andersen she co-wrote the Tax Guide to Europe, an internal publication that was sent to Andersen’s clients. This involved writing a chapter on each European country, summarising the corporate tax, income tax, indirect tax and capital taxes of each country.
Ingrid then transferred to Treasury within Andersen’s (due to her prior experience of derivative instruments) where she worked as part of a team designing derivative products which banks and insurance companies used as the underlying investments for the products they sold their clients.
Ingrid then moved to Numerica (the 15th largest UK accountancy firm at the time) as a Tax Manager focusing on owner managed businesses. There she was Head of Corporate Tax Planning and Stamp Duty. She also continued working in International Tax drafting reports for overseas clients with business interest in the UK. This involved proactive tax planning on behalf of the individual and the company, often involving international relocation and restructuring.
In 2004 Ingrid converted to become a solicitor and has worked predominantly in law firms after a short spell lecturing Law at Brighton University. During her career as a solicitor Ingrid has worked as a Senior Associate and Head of Tax and Private Client in a Legal 500 firm in Central London.
Ingrid regularly lectures on Trust and Taxation and Business Succession courses for the Society of Will Writers and The Association of Accountants as well as to a number of group of financial advisers.
Ingrid initially studied piano and composition at Trinity College of Music in London and then went on to teach piano and woodwind at Eastbourne College and until recently, whilst living in Edinburgh, Ingrid gave regular piano recitals at the Edinburgh Society for Musicians.
Penny is a Personal injury Solicitor working within the Dispute Resolution Department
Penny has many years’ experience in dealing with accident and injury claims and in achieving excellent results for her clients, the majority of whom are referred to her by recommendation.
In addition to her Solicitor’s qualifications, Penny also holds an honours degree in History and a Private pilot’s licence. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, flying, reading and classic films.
“After having lunch at a local garden centre, my husband Mr W who is elderly, disabled and walks with the aid of a wheelie walker was walking out through the automatic doors when they closed unexpectedly, knocking him to the ground. Zöe is a senior Family Law solicitor based in the Sevenoaks office.
She has a Wealth of experience in all areas of family law to include divorce and separation, financial matters relating to relationship breakdown (including high net worth matters), disputes between cohabitees (encompassing Trusts of Land claims), and private children matters. She also has experience drafting and advising on pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements, as well as drafting financial agreements. Prior to joining Wellers in October 2018, Zöe ran her own practice in Surrey for 12 years.
Outside of work, Zöe is a keen fencer.
