Government launches new safeguarding tool for charities

Charities have a duty of care to ensure their employees, volunteers, beneficiaries and anyone else that they have contact with in their work are protected from harm and abuse.

To help with this responsibility the government has launched a new safeguarding tool to help charities make correct decisions when a safeguarding incident occurs. The tool offers step-by-step multiple choice questions which steer you towards suitable guidance and appropriate government bodies which charities should refer to in particular scenarios.

As you go through the steps, the choices aren’t saved and so we would advise that clients devise an imaginary safeguarding scenario, go through the steps and compare whether your safeguarding procedures are in line with the guidance.

Access the Safeguarding Tool.
